Alkaline Water Cost
Water ionizers that produce Alkaline Water cost anywhere from as little as $25 to as much as $5,000. This is quite a wide price range, but the alkaline water cost will really depends on the type of ionizer that you get. There are portable units that can travel with you anywhere you go, there are the typical counter-top or wall-mounted units that are advertised, and then there are the more expensive under-the-counter or under-the-sink units.
Alkaline Water Cost – Avoiding The Lemons
Recognizing the good brands is very important, and you should be aware that there are numerous brand names out there, but not every ionizer is created equally, and the cost will also vary. Some of the unreliable brands will price their units in the same range as reputable companies, so their units seem competitive. Unfortunately, those units will eventually wear out far more quickly than the more reputable brands. This is one marketing ploy that you should not fall for.
Another trick to be wary of is the actual name. You may have seen some electronics being sold under names that are extremely close to the original brands, such as Sanya (instead of Sanyo), or Panosanic (instead of Panasonic). Sometimes people do not pay close enough attention and wind up with a substandard unit that breaks down in less than a year. The same thing goes for the company logo, some of the cheaper brands will imitate logos of the more reputable companies, and again you may end up with a lemon if you don’t pay enough attention.
It is very important to be able to see through these type of tactics. We wouldn’t want you to end up paying good money for an inferior product. We would recommend sticking to the more well-known brands from established companies that have a long and proven track record, and avoid the lemons.
Finding Reputable Companies
Below is a list of the companies that you should look for when considering purchasing a water ionizer. All of these companies have an established name, manufacture quality units with excellent warranties, and have maintenance facilities where you can have your ionizer services (if required):
- Enagic, aka Kangen
- Tyent USA
- KYK
- Alkalux
- Evontis
- Jupiter, aka IonWays
A good idea would be to jot down some of these brand names before you go searching for a water ionizer.
Types Of Ionizers
Now that you have any idea of the brands to look for, let’s talk briefly about the types of ionizers that are available. To take advantage of the health benefits of alkaline water, you will mainly be looking at three types of water ionizers: portable units, counter-top or wall-mounted units, and under-the-counter or under-the-sink units.
Portable Water Ionizers
Portable ionizing units can travel with you anywhere you go. They are small, light-weight, and easy to carry. There are a few different kinds of portable water ionizers: ionizing pitchers, ionizing bottles, and portable ionizing units. Ionizing pitchers are basically like a filtered water pitcher, except it filters AND ionizes the water. You can get about 6 glasses of water from your average ionizing pitcher at one time. An ionizing bottle is more or less the size of a sports water bottle, and it ionizes about 2 glasses of water at once. The portable ionizing unit is similar to the typical counter-top units, only it is much smaller. It can produce a constant stream of ionized water, but works much slower than the counter-top unit. Still, if you want to enjoy alkaline water at work, or away from home, then the portable unit may be the way to go. Of course, the final decision is yours, based on your needs and your budget.
Counter-Top (Wall-Mounted)
These are the most popular types of water ionizers sold today. There are a large number of manufacturers, each offering various models with different features, capabilities, and varying alkaline water cost. The more features you want in an ionizer, the more you will end up paying, however there are a few units that will give you the same bang for your buck as much more expensive models.

Under-The-Counter (Under-The-Sink)
These units are popular, but also come with a higher price. This is because of the additional hardware an Under-The-Sink unit needs. The main ionizing unit is installed out of view, usually under the sink, or under a counter close to the sink. Water is ionized in the main unit, but instead of being dispensed at the unit through a spout like traditional Counter-Top units, the Under-The-Counter units have an added faucet that can be installed above the counter next to the sink. The water is dispensed there. The faucets usually have the pH settings, and other various features built into the faucet itself. This is a great unit if you do not want an ionizer to take up space on our counter, or don’t want to alter the esthetics of your kitchen.
Alkaline Water Machines, the Price Ranges
| Unit Types | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Portable Water Ionizers | $25 – $150 |
| Counter-Top (Wall Mounted) | $1,500 – $4,000 |
| Under-The-Sink | $3,000 – $6,000 |
The price you pay for your water ionizer can depend on the features you want, the type of ionizer you need, and the quantity of water you’ll require at any given time. Take some time to review the various types of water ionizers, and also the different features that are offered. One of the main points to consider is the company itself. A more established company has a longer track record, and usually offers better warranties. Many water ionizer companies have come and gone, so you don’t want to buy a water ionizer from a company that won’t be around in a few years…if your unit needs servicing, or repair you may not have anywhere to take it, or may even end up having to throw it away! By sticking to the established companies you will get a reliable unit, and in the long run will not end up paying a high Alkaline Water cost.
