What Is An Ionizer Machine?
An ionizer machine will ionize water that passes through it. Most ionizer machines can ionize the water to produce acidic water, and alkaline water. What’s the difference between the two? The pH level is the difference. Acidic water has a pH that is less than 7, while Alkaline water has a pH higher than 7. Water that is 7 is considered neutral, it’s not acidic or alkaline.
What does this mean? Acidic water should only be used externally, on your skin, your face, your hair, and it is a great disinfectant that can be used for general cleaning purposes. Alkaline water is for internal use, it balances out the acidity of your body, neutralizes oxygen free radicals that cause you to age prematurely, helps to ward of diseases & viruses, and generally promotes overall good health.
Tap water is generally slightly acidic to neutral, and really give no help to balancing out your body’s acidity. The ionizer machine makes the water alkaline so that you can enjoy the health benefits. It does this by adding in extra electrons creating a very slight electrical charge in the water. Don’t worry, it’s completely safe! The alkaline water is then absorbed by the body, extra electrons and all. The extra electrons are donated to those oxygen free radicals which neutralizes them, preventing any further damage to your body.
The ionizer machine that you are looking for should be able to produce both alkaline and acidic water, so that you can enjoy the benefits of both types of water.
How Does An Ionizer Machine Work?
Well, there are actually three types of water ionizers: Magnetic Water Ionizers, Batch Unit Ionizers, and Portable Water Ionizers. The main concept is that water goes in on one side of the ionizer, is ionized in the chamber, and ionized water comes out the other side. All three types of ionizer machines work under the same principle of ionizing water, but each does it differently.
A Magnetic Water Ionizer attaches to your main water line just before it is piped throughout the house. It ionizes the water, and then that ionized water is sent to all the taps and faucets in your home. If all you want is alkaline water then this is a good way to do it, but you need to know that even the water you shower with will be alkaline…and acidic water is best for external uses, not alkaline. Alkaline water is most effective inside the body. If your plumbing is set up into 2 separate systems, all the drinking water comes from one line, and all the washing water comes from a separate line, then this may be a good option. Most houses are not set up this way, so this might not be the choice for you.
A Batch Unit Ionizer attaches to your faucet with a valve, and ionizes water a batch at a time. A batch unit can ionize about 2 – 3 gallons of water at once. This is good if you want to ionizer more than a glass of water, but don’t want all your water to be ionized. However, most batch ionizers dispense water directly from the unit itself, so water goes from the tap to the unit and then out from the unit. This means that every time you want to ionize some water, you need to hook up the ionizer to the tap or faucet.
A Water Ionizer is what most people choose, because the majority of water ionizer machines are flow through units. That means it hooks up to your tap with a switch, and water is sent from the tap to the portable water ionizer, and then back to the tap where it is dispensed. The switch allows you to alternate between regular tap water and ionized water. Also, the water ionizer can be mounted to a wall above or beside your sink, it can sit conveniently on the counter, or it can be installed under the sink out of the way. All it needs is an electrical outlet nearby so it can plug in. The average portable water ionizer machine can produce about 2 gallons of ionized water per minute.
Where Can I Get An Ionizer Machine?
Ionizer machines have become more popular over the past decade, and today you can find a water ionizer in pretty much any hardware store or home store. You can also buy an ionizer machine online at many various websites, and will have a wider variety to choose from at major retail websites. We still suggest that you walk into a store and see the unit for yourself so you know what to expect. You can also have a conversation with the sales people to see what they have to say about ionizer machines. Then you can do some research online, compare the specifications, highlights and features of each type of ionizer machine, compare pricing, and then buy the one that is right for you.
Which Is The Best Ionizer Machine?
To be honest, no one ionizer machine is “the best”, even though it may claim to be. What you should be asking is “what is the best ionizer machine FOR ME”? It’s just like a car, or a cell phone…not everyone likes, wants, or needs the exact same thing, so what one person thinks is the best, may not be what you think is the best. Some people may want gas mileage in a car, others may want comfort, and some may want performance, so “the best” really depends on you.
That being said, there are a number of companies producing water ionizers, but we will recommend a few different companies that you should consider. The ionizer machines that you should be looking at are: Enagic, Jupiter, Kangen, KYK and Tyent. There are other companies that make certain models that can compare, but generally, these are the companies whose water ionizers you should look at. Each one has various models: countertops, wall mounted, under sink units, all with different features, and all have a different cost. Just remember the more bells and whistles the unit has, the higher the cost will be for that particular Ionizer Machine.
